In 2004, Scott began photographing along the 2,300 mile Great River Road - a designated series of roads which follow the entire length of the Mississippi River from its headwaters in Minnesota to the Gulf Of Mexico. Scott was raised along this road in eastern Iowa. "The river and this road defined my world view at an early age. I only imagined distance and travel in two directions - up and down river." He began this project by photographing in the 4x10 format - an aspect ratio which mimics both the river and the road. The first solo exhibit of this work was in 2006 at the Ylvisaker Fine Arts Center in Mankato, MN. Scott is continuing to produce new work along the Great River Road as part of a book and traveling exhibit.
